CB&I wins $750 million oil sands deal
CB&I will provide the engineering and construction services for the Canadian project.
CB&I (NYSE: CBI) said Wednesday it was awarded an engineering and construction contract valued at more than $750 million from Imperial Oil Resources Ventures Ltd.
The contract is for Imperial?s Kearl Expansion Project in Alberta, Canada, which, according to the company?s website, is an open pit mining operation that has regulatory approval of up to 345,00 barrels of oil a day from the area?s oil sands.
The Woodlands-based CB&I will provide the engineering, procurement, module assembly and construction of a bitumen extraction plan, froth tank farms, multiple storage tanks and six froth selling units.
CB&I has been working with Imperial on the Kearl initial development project since 2008.
